ITO participation on ITIL-Forum 2008


The leading user forum for all IT managers and senior staff opened its doors in Wiesbaden this year under the motto "Repositioning and Value Orientation through the IT Service Lifecycle and ITIL V3".


As ITIL established itself long ago as the de facto standard for IT Service Management, this year the focus is mainly on the management of the service lifecycle and on the implementation of ITIL processes. ITIL V3 strengthens the relationship of ITIL to IT strategy and business strategy and focuses for the first time on the entire lifecycle of IT services.
 
ITO successfully participated at this event with an exhibition booth.
Furthermore Alexandru Schäfer-Girleanu, Senior Consultant IT Service Management at Siemens IT Operations, reported on the first day of the forum on:
  • The challenges of changing from ITIL v2 to ITIL v3,
  • Business Service Management and Continual Service Management as a link between business processes and IT services, and
  • Experiences and success factors of ITIL at Siemens AG.
