naval vessels are in service worldwide.
Many of these vessels have been in
service for ten years, some even longer.
Technology, processes and the
functionality of on-board systems have
in the meantime under-gone considerable
change and development. The maintenance
of these vessels becomes increasingly
difficult, spare parts for older
systems which may have become redundant

the availability of on-board systems
could then be affected. Modernising and
