Hydraulic oscillator for slab casters to improve surface quality
The SIMETAL DynaFlex oscillator is a technological package for mold oscillation comprising of two hydraulic oscillation units including wear free leaf guiding systems for the mold. A control unit allows for adjusting stroke, frequency and curve shape dynamically.

The challenge
Frequent maintenance work, strand surface defects and no possibility to adjust the oscillation parameters during casting are typical problems related to conventional mold oscillator technology.
Our solution
The SIMETAL DynaFlex oscillator is a technological package consisting of a foundation frame and two individually exchangeable and interchangeable oscillator units, each fitted with one leaf spring guided mold table and a hydraulic cylinder. A control unit allows adjusting stroke, frequency and curve shape dynamically. This results in substantial operational and metallurgical improvements such as minimization of oscillation mark depth. Precise mold guidance is assured by the wear free leaf spring guiding system.
