Siemens VAI has the capabilities to design and supply
polypropylene equipment for new process lines and to
replace existing tanks, covers, exhaust systems, etc
that are made from traditional materials.
Polypropylene has become the material of choice to
replace steel tanks with rubber and brick linings. This
material is corrosion resistant throughout, is tough,
can be welded into many configurations, and has similar
or better life with less maintenance. No additional
linings are required. Tanks can be designed to operate
at temperatures up to 100° C with most common pickling,
cleaning, and plating solutions.
Our principal products are polypropylene tanks and covers
for carbon steel and stainless steel continuous pickling and
process lines. Other products include batch tanks for
various shapes; electrolytic tanks and cells for cleaning,
plating, and coating; tanks, chambers, and cells for metal
finishing applications; and storage and circulation tanks
for corrosive solutions.
We service the mill equipment builders by providing the
design engineering and fabrication of tanks to convert their
steel strip processes to polypropylene equipment. This
service reduces their engineering requirements and assures
that the highest quality of polypropylene process equipment
is provided.
Siemens VAI services steel mills around the world by
replacing their existing pickling tanks with custom designed
polypropylene tanks. We can replace one or more of the
pickling tanks at a time. We also include conversion of
steering roll chambers and rinse tanks to polypropylene
construction. Process improvements and upgrades to other
equipment and controls are also available.
Siemens VAI has world wide commissioning, installation, and
on-site repair service for all of the polypropylene
equipment that we supply.
