VAI, is designed to provide a cost effective
online flatness measurement system for Cold Rolling Mills.
Designed specifically for Cold Mill
applications and based upon the market leading SIROLL Air
Bearing Shapemeter Roll, this modular
heavy duty design enables it to be tailored to any specific
application without compromising its
full operating capability.
Air bearing technology has been well proven over many
decades for use in the metals industry and now the SIROLL Heavy Duty Shapemeter takes reliability
and performance to a new level. Not only is the load bearing capability greater than any air
bearing roll previously, making the roll
ideally suitable for Cold Mill use, but new performance
improving features have been incorporated.
The SIROLL Heavy Duty Shapemeter has been introduced to
accommodate the increasing strip width of modern cold mills
today. Offering a Robust Design, suitable for Cold
Mill Duty, the instrument is of a modular design
construction which allows reduced spare part holding. The
SIROLL Heavy Duty Shapemeter provides continuous
measurement, even at low mill speeds.
The system includes a Multi-height Retraction Mechanism as
standard incorporating Automatic Trend Alignment
(ATA) together with three individually, fully adjustable,
wrap angle positions. The SIROLL Heavy Duty
Shapemeter is suitable for a variety of materials including
aluminum, carbon steel, brass and copper.
