Gauging System for the on-line, dimensional measurement of hot rolled, complex profile products providing key dimensional, shape and surface data.
Siemens VAI provides this latest technology for effective
non-contact profile measurement of rails, beams and the full
range of structural and special profiles.
The system, which is based on structured laser technology,
provides key data to the user in the form of measured
dimensions, shape indication and detection of surface
defects using an additional optional module. As a
leading supplier of measurement equipment to the steel
industry Siemens VAI has hundreds of proven references
worldwide .
ProScan, from Siemens VAI, is installed after the finishing
stand to measure the full profile of the final product and
indicates any out of tolerance dimensions, enabling the
operator to identify and correct, in real-time, the working
parameters. Analysis of the measurement data allows
the user to determine where improvements can be made and
ensures that productivity increases are realized.
ProScan is flexible enough to fit into both the environment
and the organization, with easy off-line handling for
planned maintenance. Shape critical dimension tolerances are
defined by the customer, within the system product setup
screen. A user friendly operator interface with numerical
and graphical visualization offers the operator a concise
display tool on which to base decisions. Integration via
TCP/IP with the existing company network enhances and
facilitates the extensive data sharing capabilities.
