SIFLAT - flatness measurement and control
The great demands made on the quality of cold strip place a growing requirement on good flatness. This is why flatness measuring systems are standard in every rolling mill today - with a distinct disadvantage: Contact between the measuring system and the strip can result in scratching of the strip surface, and the method requires extensive maintenance work. The key advantage of the new SIROLL SIFLAT method developed by Siemens is the contactless measuring principle, which can be used in single-pass and reversing mills for steel, stainless steel and nonferrous metals. Combined with our flatness control system with self-learning parameter optimization, this provides you with a "one-stop" fine-tuned measuring and control solution.
