The challenge
How to handle peak currents up to 4,000 A and peak voltages up to 40.5 kV, up to 150 times a day? For high numbers of operating cycles, frequent switching, and reliable handling of high switching currents and voltages, you need furnace circuit breakers with rugged properties to ensure reliable switching without impermissible overvoltages.
Our solution
We offer specially designed furnace switchgears to meet the various requirements and types of arc furnaces. Part of the solution are individually designed suppressor circuits to handle overvoltages reliably. Our computer-supported system simulation allows us to reliably predict the impact of different suppressor circuits on the furnace switchgear as well as on the entire energy supply of your plant.
