In the Spence copper mine in Chile, SIMINE CC offers mine operator BHP Billiton a perfect overview.
With the opening of the new Spence open-cast copper mine in Chile, BHP Billiton is relying on Siemens’ automation and control expertise in a big way. A SIMATIC PCS 7 system with hardware and software for 5,000 control points and 150 displays forms the mine’s information backbone. Siemens was involved in the project throughout – from the planning phase to the rollout workshop and after-sales services.
