From the order to the production unit: Optimize your entire production
Production planning starts with specific customer orders
and converts these into production orders for every single
production unit and sequences to match the goal of being
machine utilization with the global optimum. Conditions and
parameters are the rules to create the production order. Of
course, particular attention is paid to the
throughput of bottleneck units. The calculations are closely
based on the various types of application, such as cold or
hot processing. The procedures – whether heuristic, strategic,
genetic or constraint-based – follow specific requirements but
have one thing in common: development work is in close
cooperation with partners from Siemens Research and with
research institutes – as well as the successful practical
deployment with customers.
The solution of Production planning in our MES comprises a wide
range of planning modes, from capacity planning to production
planning and production path determination to stock optimization
and sequencing.
